Raiders Volleyball Takes Second Place at State Championship

Monday, December 16 2013

The Unalaska Raiders girls’ volleyball team took second place in the state championships in Anchorage this weekend.

The Raiders lost in three sets to Su Valley High School at the 2A finals on Saturday.

It wraps up a strong season for the team. They headed into Saturday's matches at Dimond High School after a series of wins last week.

Senior Taytum Robinson made the season-wide all-conference team at the semi-finals last week. She and fellow senior Cynthia Drayton were also both named to the all-tournament team.

Sad attempt to write about the games they played. The first game they beat an undefeated team named 'Glennallen'. They won 3-1. The second game they played Craig, they won 3-5 sets. They were amazing, they played hard, they were a great team. They won a sportsmanship award also. I give great credit to the coaches who brought them to the State Tournament!! Congratulations Ms. Heard & Ms. Wood on yr hard work!! Ladiy Raiders I hope to see you next year in Anchorage in the State Tournament!! And if you want to see great pictures on FB Bristol Bay Times/Dutch Harbor Fisherman has great action shots. Congratulations Lady Raiders for representing our community with yr great talent!!!
