Officer observed what appeared to be a shoplifter taking pot pies from the freezer section at a grocery store. Store personnel were unable to say whether any patrons had purchased pot pies, and surveillance videos were equally uninformative.

Woman told police that her soon-to-be-ex-boyfriend had stolen $4000 of her money, during a time when the two had comingled funds. The woman was advised to address the matter in Small Claims court.

Assault

Three men asked a fourth companion to leave their room after the fourth man began discussing unsavory criminal aspects of his past. Victor P. J. West Jr., 37 yoa, left the room but returned about 20 minutes later armed with a pipe. One man was struck in the face with the pipe and the other two were injured when they wrested the pipe away from the suspect. West Jr. was detained at the scene and was subsequently arrested on charges of Assault II, Assault III and Assault IV.

Crab observer reported that a member of a film crew had attempted to thwart her data-collection efforts on board her vessel. The captain and film crew for the vessel provided a somewhat different version of events, but were warned nonetheless about interfering with observer duties. The captain was also advised to address his other concerns with the observer’s employer and/or ADF&G.

An officer investigating a vehicle theft that had occurred a few days earlier identified two men who had been seen getting into and then out of the van after it had been abandoned in a bar parking lot. Clinton James Burgoyne, 26 yoa; and Byron Reeves, 26 yoa, were both charged with Criminal Trespass. The men claimed not to know the van was stolen.
