Approximately 50 gallons of diesel fuel spilled from a vessel docked at the Spit when the fuel tender quit tending the fuel tank and walked away for several minutes. Clean up efforts were under way by the time the incident was reported.

New homeowner reported an item that she believed had been included with the purchase of the house, had been stolen from the property. Subsequent investigation indicated the item, a smoker, had been lent to the previous homeowner by a friend. The friend had spoken to the new homeowner’s husband about having it returned to him but this information and specific arrangements for the smoker’s return had not been clarified with all parties.

An officer contacted a number of people including the homeowner, the current caretaker, a previous caretaker, a man who parked his car in front of the house and the man who helped him park his car there, but was able to determine nothing about the origin of the damage. The homeowner advised he would address the issue when he returns to town.
