Shawn M. Cruse, 29 yoa, was arrested for Driving under the Influence after an officer observed Cruse driving along the fog line on Airport Beach Road. Cruse admitted to having had several drinks and apologized for his behavior.

Officers responded to a fishing vessel regarding a recently terminated employee who was dragging his heels about packing his gear and leaving the vessel. The ex-employee sped up, marginally, after officers arrived on scene and was eventually escorted to the dock.

Officers stopped a garbage truck driver who was speeding, and subsequently conducted an inspection of his vehicle. Several minor violations were noted; the driver was issued warnings about those violations as well as speeding.

An inebriated David Lee Godfrey, 41 yoa, was arrested for Drunken Person on Licensed Premise after officers found the man, who had been told only an hour earlier to stay out of bars and liquor stores, inside a liquor store.

Library staff reported an unruly and intoxicated patron refused to leave the premises. An officer contacted the suspect, who had just left the building, and advised him he would be arrested if he returned to the facility this night.

Officer investigated damage to a vehicle parked at City Hall, and determined the broken window had likely been caused by a rock or other debris thrown by a lawn mower.

Caller reported a van with studded tires on East Broadway. An officer searched the area and found only one van matching the suspect vehicle description. It did not have studded tires.

Security officers reported an employee had been “jumped” and had complained of back pain shortly before he collapsed. Responding officers restrained the patient, who was combative and uncooperative with EMS personnel, and attempted to ascertain the details of his alleged assault. The patient refused to provide any information about his attackers, except to say they were part of the Mexican Mafia.

Bartender reported a patron might be in danger from a large group of men who were waiting outside. A group of about 10 people departed in a taxi immediately after officers arrived on scene. A taxi was called for the patron in question, who did admit to being afraid, and officers followed the taxi to ensure no harm came to the man.
