Caller reported a half-clothed man barking in the yard of the Russian Orthodox Church. The man, later identified as Ishmael Guerrero, broke a window at the church and damaged other items before he was apprehended.

Ishmael Guerrero, 29 yoa, recently unemployed and unable to board a flight off the island, stole a vehicle whose driver had conveniently left the keys inside when she went into the airport. Guerrero loaded his bags in the bed of the truck and sped towards downtown Unalaska, where he was briefly contacted by an off-duty Alaska State Trooper before fleeing in the direction of the Russian Orthodox Church. Guerrero, who damaged parts of the historic church before being apprehended by two citizens, was charged with Vehicle theft I, Burglary II, Criminal mischief III, DWLS/R/C, Resisting Arrest, Assault IV, Damaging Historic Resources and Disorderly Conduct.
