An inmate who had so far failed to make bail on earlier charges faked a seizure and manhandled a Corrections officer in order to flee his cell, but his attempt to escape from the jail was stymied when the secret code he claimed had been written on his jail-issued slippers did not open the door to the great outdoors. Alas, Christopher J. Hadsell, 23 yoa, of Washington, remained in jail with an additional charge of Attempted Escape.

A driver backing out of a parking space struck a vehicle parked adjacent to her. Damages were minor and no injuries were reported. The driver received a citation.

A drunken woman in need of a taxi repeatedly honked her car's horn in an effort to get a cab driver's attention. She later apologized for her state of inebriation and promised she would go home without further ado.

A kind-hearted hotel guest allowed into his room a drunk he found passed out in the hotel hallway. The drunk overstayed his welcome when he puked on the floor and then tried to sleep in his vomitus. Officers took the drunk into protective custody.

An underage young man attempting to gain entry to a bar told an officer that he did not know there was a drinking age in Alaska because in his country, the drinking age is whatever one wants it to be. The officer provided the man with relevant information and a warning not to try to enter the bar again.
