On Sunday June 15th, 2014, the Alaska Peace Officers Association (APOA), held the 2014 Father’s Day Pin Shoot at the Aleutian Rod and Gun Club (ARGC) range. APOA has been hosting pin shoots for about 15 years. Pin shoots normally occur once or twice a year depending upon the availability of old bowling pins. Luckily, many bowling alleys in the Anchorage area have been generous when it comes to donating worn out pins.
This year, the shoot was again a success. Proceeds go towards APOA, which is fundraising for a special 911 system for the Senior Center. While the winds were mild, the rain kept the competitors wet. Most shrugged it off and stayed the entire time. 3 separate divisions competed, with the winners listed below. Special thanks is given to Alaska Ship Supply for it generous contribution. If you would like to help APOA and its efforts to assist the Senior Center, consider buying a raffle ticket in the upcoming “911” Raffle.
