This is year 3 of the school having a team participating in Movember. Last year, we raised just about $1500, and our goal this year was to break $2000. We’re about $1000 short of our goal right now. We’ve got 11 people (guys and gals) signed up and raising money for the cause and a few more growing mustaches to support us that haven’t officially signed up.

November is Men’s Health month, so the MOvember organization supports initiatives having to do with prostate and testicular cancers, men’s depression and mental health issues, and other men’s specific issues.

The idea is that by growing a mustache, we create conversations, like someone asking “what’s up with the mustache?” and the Movember participant replies, “I’m growing a mustache to support men’s health…” etc, thus helping grow awareness and support for Men’s Health initiatives.
