First place winner, Gianna Villafuerte

The Ballyhoo Lions Club sponsored their annual Peace Poster contest and the theme of this year's contest was Peace, Love, and Understanding. Lion President Frank Kelty and Lion John Conwell presented the awards on Monday, October 27^th in the Unalaska Junior High's Art Class. The first place winner was Gianna Villafuerte - she was awarded $100.00 prize and her poster will be submitted to the Statewide Lions contest in Anchorage, Alaska this month of November. The second place finisher was Mercedes Caudillo and was awarded $75.00 and third place winner was Audrey Schomer, who was awarded a $50.00 prize. Well over 30 posters were submitted by the Unalaska Junior High students for the contest. Kelty commented that the all of the posters were very well done.
