Council Seat D: David Gregory
Monday, September 16 2013
My name is David Gregory and I am running for City Council Seat D. I am interested in serving on the council because I think public service is a responsibility of every citizen. I have enjoyed my past Council service and have learned a great deal about City Government, taxes, budgets and a whole host of things that being a council member involves.
I worked for the City of Unalaska for 24 years as the Fire Chief, retiring in 2003. When I worked for the City I thought I knew about the City and how it operated. I have learned that I experienced one part of the City and that there is plenty more to learn.
I currently work of the Ounalashka Corporation as their Operations Manager. I have found that OC and the City have a great deal in common and that the City and OC need to be partners and work together in order to move the City in a positive direction.
I am a proud graduate of Unalaska High School Class of 1976.
My hobbies include all things boating and fishing. I have served on a number of boards and commissions over the years including: Holy Ascension Cathedral Restoration Committee, Unalaska School Board, Aleutian Islands Rick Assessment Advisory Panel and the Unalaska Fish and Game Advisory Committee to name a few.
My wife Patty and I have two children – James and Delores.
I look forward to serving another term on the Unalaska City Council so that I can work toward making our City the best place in Alaska to work and raise a family.
I very much appreciate the past support I have received from the Community and hope I can continue to serve Unalaska as a member of the City Council.
