This past weekend the Lady Raiders Volleyball team traveled to Anchorage and played in the Lumen Christi Dig Pink tournament. There were a total ten teams that participated in this tournament. The Lady Raiders played a total of nine matches. Out of those nine matches, five of them were conference matches, which they had won. The teams at the tournament were all competitors and all the games that the Lady Raiders played had different levels of intensity. The Lady Raider played aggressively against the Birchwood Knights and the Dillingham Wolverine, who were state contenders in the 2013 season. The tournament was extensive, yet competitive and the Lady Raiders were able to fight and win some battles. The team ended up placing fourth out of the ten teams and is currently ranked first in the Borealis Conference with a 5-0 record!

Marina Olson, Reanna Marquez, Alyssa Roxas, and Louisa Seman were chosen for the all-tournament team. Marina was chosen as one of the top three setters, Alyssa and Reanna as two of the top three diggers/liberoes, and Louisa as one of the top three hitters. All Raiders had a great weekend playing volleyball, Coach Herman is extremely proud of her team and how well they represented their school in the conference matches. “The girls gained a lot of confidence in their play, I could not have asked for a better weekend of volleyball.”

On October 31^st and November 1^st, the Cook Inlet Academy Eagles will be in town to compete against our Lady Raiders. The games this Friday against Cook Inlet Academy is at 3:30 pm and on Saturday - the games will be at 7 pm. On November 7^th and 8^th, the Su Valley Rams will also be in town. Because they are back to back home games, we hope to see the gym packed and filled with a lot of cheering fans! WOOHOO! Great Job Lady Raiders!
