Dear Unalaska-Dutch Harbor Community:
It would be an honor to represent you on the Unalaska District Board of Education, to work together to advance student achievements in our schools, to continue with our mission, our vision for education that reflects our student needs and community priorities, to continue encouraging and supporting innovative approaches to teaching, learning and the continuous renewal of education.
My daughter Bianca attended our Unalaska Public Schools from preschool to 12th grade, at the end of eight grade, Bianca was offered to skip High School by Virginia’s Mary Baldwin College and to enroll in their institution at the age of fourteen, Bianca respectfully declined this proposition to accelerate her studies and decided to continue to enrich her life with the opportunities we have in our great Unalaska community and its school district. After graduating our Public High School in 2012 Bianca started attending college at Columbia University in New York City, Bianca is also working for a financial institution, interning at a Neurology Practice and volunteering for a nonprofit.
Unalaska is a great place to live, work and raise children; as a parent I lovethis community that has given my daughter the opportunities to develop into a well-rounded citizen, as a member of the Unalaska School Board, I have and will continue to do what is best for our children, for our dynamic collaborative multicultural community where education and lifelong learning are valued and supported; I am committed to do my best for all our children to reach their highest potential and succeed in the global economy.
I am running for seat E of the Unalaska City School District Board of Education and I respectfully ask for your vote on October 7, with your help, I can continue this commission that I feel so passionately about.
