The Story of Sarah Peacock

Monday, September 16 2013

On September 15th, some beautiful original music was heard at the Burma Road Chapel. Sarah Peacock, who is based out of Nashville, performed her last of 3 shows in our community to an appreciative audience.

Sarah's performance at Humpy's in Anchorage was seen by Tom Enlow, who then brought her to the Grand Aleutian Hotel's Cape Cheerful for a couple of shows. The Aleutian Arts Council picked her up for a final matinee performance last Sunday.

Having several CD's to her credit, Sarah sang with great fluidness, while expressing vast emotions in her original songs, many from her latest studio release "Albuquerque Sky." Her guitar playing was very full and detailed both chordally and rhythmically, often taking the listener to unexpected places when visiting a bridge in the song. Her voice ranged from a resonant breathiness to a biting, harder edge, and her range was broad, yet never revealed her potentially highest note. Her stage presence was very relaxed, and confident as she engaged the audience easily. Her songs ranged from describing life on the road, the suicide of a dear friend, the love for her dog, and about a relationship that was too toxic to continue to live with.

Channel 8 will be playing Sarah Peacock's live show in it's entirety after Flash Unalaska for those who couldn't attend any of her shows. It will air Wed, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after Flash at approx 30 minutes after 8 & 10pm.
