UCSD Competes in Valley Invitational Swim & Dive Meet

UCSD Swim Team
The Valley Invitational Swimming and Diving Meet was hosted by Palmer High School in Palmer, Alaska.
Participating teams included: ACS – Colony – Cordova – Homer – Hutchison – Kenai – Kodiak – Lathrop – Nome – North Pole – Palmer – Seward - Skyview – Soldotna – Unalaska – Valdez – Wasilla – West Valley. 

Nine swimmers from Unalaska’s boy and girl swim teams traveled to Palmer for the Valley Invitational Swimming and Diving Meet on October 17th – 19th.  This is the largest regular season swim meet in the state.  This year there were 18 schools and hundreds of swimmers in the annual race.  Everyone competed on the first day of the swimming competition.  The top 12 in each event qualified for day-two finals.  Four Raider swimmers (Lucio Howard, Kei Kawada, Delanney McConnell, and Amber Vernon) qualified for day-two.  Overall, Raiders competed in 24 individual events and improved their personal times in 17 of those events.
