UCSD Junior High Department selects Alex as Student of the Week for March 16-20, 2015
Wednesday, April 15 2015
The Junior High Department selected Alex as Student of the Week for the following reasons:
"Alex has had an outstanding 8th grade year. This year Alex has transformed himself into a dedicated student who is truly beginning to understand the sacrifices it takes to be an exemplary student. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Alex is also a valuable contributor to a positive school climate through his positive interactions with staff and students alike. Great job Alex and keep up the good work." –Mr. Wilson, Principal
"Alex exemplifies what we often talk about in class, that “attitude is a choice.” Alex chooses, every single day, to have a positive, can-do approach to learning. I can think of no time when Alex didn’t appear enthusiastic about the day’s activity, however difficult it may have been. He dives in, head first, but also thoughtfully. He will agonize over the proper idea in a story, changing it numerous times until it is just right. He will spend weekends and vacations digging into books, and come to school the next day exuberant about his reading. Because of this chosen attitude, Alex has grown tremendously this year. Keep it up, Alex, and you shall go far!" ~Ms. Purevsuren, English Teacher
"Alex is starting to come into his own regarding academics and leadership in the 8th grade class. This year Alex has been able to limit academic distractions and focus keeping his grades where he wants them. His hard work and determination is starting to pay off and will benefit him for the rest of the school year. He has a positive attitude and finds the good in the situations he encounters. Keep working and finish the year strong Alex." –Mr. Russell, Social Studies Teacher
