The Principal’s Pick for Student of the Week is Kiara Villamor for the following reasons:
- Kiara is an outstanding role model in our school. She has improved greatly in her classwork and in her commitment to her schoolwork this school year. The transition to junior high is a difficult one for many students and Kiara has learned that through hard work and perseverance that she can achieve at the very highest levels. In addition to her outstanding schoolwork, Kiara is also active in wide variety of student activities including student council, basketball, volleyball, and she was recently recognized at a state wide qualifier for the Geography Bee. Great job Kiara and keep up the good work. -Mr. Wilson, Principal
- Kiara may seem reticent during large class discussions, but not so in small group literature circles: she speaks energetically on original insights, referencing passages and sparking lively conversation. Especially of late, Kiara has made her mark by trying her hardest on all classwork, being a leader in group settings, and producing writing worthy of modelling for all classes. Way to go, Kiara! – Ms. Purevsuren, English
- Kiara is a quite, fierce athlete. In physical education class she leads athletically and by example for her peers. It’s fun to watch her learn and practice new skills, she is always hardworking and determined to be better. Congratulations Kiara. Ms. Heard, P.E. & Health Teacher
- Kiara is an outstanding student. In History class, she works hard in providing quality work and her contributions to discussions are well thought out. She has emerged as a leader in her class by modeling the type of behavior of a successful student. Kiara is also very active in the school, from sports to other activities, she is one of the most driven and humble student athletes in the Junior High. Finish the year strong Kiara. –Mr. Russell, Junior High Social Studies
Kiara is the daughter of Roel and Joanne Villamor
