Unalaska, AK – The Coast Guard is searching for a man who reportedly fell overboard from the F/V Alaska Warrior as it passed through Amukta Pass today, about 218 miles west of Unalaska. The 58-year-old Japanese man fell overboard around 12:45 pm today with no survival gear on. Two Coast Guard aircraft are expected on the scene this evening and crews on the Alaska Warrior and her sister ship the Alaska Juris are actively searching for the crewmember. Reported weather conditions are 23 mph winds and eight foot seas. Both vessels are part of the Fishing Company of Alaska fleet and are homeported in Seattle but frequently fish out of Unalaska. The search is on-going. On Saturday a man fell off of the catcher-processor Rebecca Irene and the unsuccessful search was called off early Sunday.
