Unalaska, AK – Another crime has been added to the list of charges that a California man is facing following a fatal van accident Friday night.

Victorio Cabrera will face the misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of an accident in addition to his previous three felony charges and one misdemeanor charge relating to the incident, in which passenger Alan Fulinara was killed. The most serious of the charges, second-degree murder, carries a minimum sentence of 10 years.

The hit-and-run charge stems from an earlier incident on Friday night, in which Cabrera allegedly hit another vehicle in the UniSea Sports Bar parking lot while heavily intoxicated, according to court documents. According to public safety reports, an officer was responding to that accident when he saw Cabrera weaving and speeding down Airport Beach Road and pursued him. Cabrera allegedly sped up and swerved off the road, crashing through a guardrail and rolling the van down the embankment on the Amaknak Island side of the South Channel Bridge, killing Fulinara.

Cabrera's pre-indictment hearing is set for October 12 in Unalaska.
