Church Vandal Apologizes, Pays Restitution

Criminal charges were dropped Tuesday against the man who went on a cross-town graffiti spree in April. Christopher Hadsell, 23, stood accused of spray-painting the Russian Orthodox Church, Kloosterboer cold storage facility and Highliner property. In lieu of criminal penalties, Hadsell paid $500 in restitution to the Church of the Holy Ascension, and wrote letters of apology to all three organizations.
Assault charges against Hadsell for a separate incident were also dropped in favor of civil penalties. Several days after the graffiti spree, Hadsell was arrested for punching a Harborview Bar bouncer in the face. Court documents indicate that the charges were dropped after the bouncer received “sufficient restitution” for a pair of broken prescription glasses.
Hadsell will still serve jail time though. While imprisoned for the assault, he attempted to escape by faking a seizure, and in the process injured a police officer. He was sentenced to six months in jail and five years of probation. Prosecutors dropped charges for a second attempted jailbreak that occurred while he was being arraigned for the first one.

I understand asking these criminals to say their sorry for the crimes they have committed, but really....You cannot fix stupid, and the more we turn our heads, the more this will happen. Another example of why what happened last weekend on the East coast happened. These people need more than a request to say they are sorry. If that was they case, why even file a complaint. I agree with TripleU, get them off the island...and take it a little further, place them on an island where there is nothing but like minded criminals, and make them fend for themselves. What a waste of time and money.

Looks like he was given too many chances but yet continued his negative behavior. Sounds like his seek'n help/attention for something. Hope he finds it soon, before his behavior escalates.

....and this is why criminals get away with their crimes and able to commit others...

Can't we get these disturbed individuals off the island - or maybe deport them to Angola Seems appropriate and a good deterrent
