City Council will fill Caldero's seat at next meeting

Wednesday, November 14 2007

Unalaska, AK – The Unalaska City Council is seeking letters of interest from people who'd like to be considered for appointment to Rocky Caldero's seat on the council.

The other council members voted unanimously to accept Caldero's resignation at last night's meeting. His replacement will be appointed at the next council meeting, on November 27, and will serve until the general election next October.

Letters are due to the City Clerk's office at noon on November 21, a week from today.

In other business from last night's meeting, the council voted to hold a special session on November 28 to begin crafting an ethics policy for the city. Council members took a very preliminary look at policies from Juneau, Anchorage, Fairbanks and the Mat-Su Borough, but discussion was mostly limited to setting the date of the session.
