Unalaska, AK – A 10-year-old girl was flown from St. Paul Island to Anchorage by the Coast Guard for emergency medical treatment last night after a Guardian Flight plane from Unalaska had to turn back because of the weather.

According to staff at the clinic in St. Paul, where she had been previously treated, the girl was in stable condition in Anchorage as of this afternoon. Neither her name nor the nature of the medical emergency have been released.

A Coast Guard C-130 was dispatched from Air Station Kodiak at about 8:30 p.m. after the Guardian plane was prevented from landing on the island because of low visibility, according to Chief Petty Officer Barry Lane.
