Moses vs. Edgmon is down to two votes

Tuesday, September 05 2006

Dillingham, AK – The race for the House District 37 Democratic nomination is still too close to call, even with most of the absentee and question ballots counted.

Although challenger Bryce Edgmon enjoys a slim two-vote lead over incumbent Rep. Carl Moses of Unalaska in the Democratic race, there are still overseas ballots to count and officials don't know how many there are in the district.

The total votes counted to date show Edgmon leading Moses 756 to 754. The Division of Elections says the final results will probably be certified on September 15th.

Whoever wins the Democratic nomination will face Republican Ron Bowers of Dillingham. Bowers won the Republican nomination with 308 votes to Joe Faith's 232 votes. Vincent Tutiakoff of Adak came in third with 171 votes.
