Unalaska, AK – Over 30 people from Tiny Tots to adults raced in the PCR's Triathlon this weekend as individuals and teams. The triathlon started in the pool then competitors rode their bikes through the valley before running. Zachary Call came in first in the adult individual competition.
"The swimming was pretty hard because I don't swim," he said. "The biking was kind of tiring because I had just got done with swimming but it got better the second half and running was pretty easy because I'd been running for about a month now everyday."
Seven-year-old Seth Henning won the Tiny Tot division. He said he expected to.
Casey Brewer organized the Triathlon for the PCR. He said coordinating 35 volunteers and three different age group races was difficult. "Since I wasn't here at last year's triathlon, I didn't know what to expect so I was kind of flying blind so I didn't know the little things to look out for," he explained. Some of the little things included what to do if someone lost his or her number or if someone missed a checkpoint.
