The Department of Public Safety also says trucks may continue to use chains on their tires.

Update, 5 p.m. Friday: The Unalaska Department of Public Safety has extended the Category 1 travel advisory until Saturday at 5 p.m.
Public Safety says drivers should continue to use caution due to slippery roads and snow accumulation across town.
They also say tractor-trailer operators may still use chains on their tires, and that drivers must keep their headlights on at all times.
Winter weather has caused a few minor traffic accidents since it began. A pick-up truck slid into another vehicle turning off of Captains Bay Road Thursday afternoon. Deputy Police Chief Mike Holman says no one was injured in that crash.
He says they’ve also been called to help a few other vehicles that slid off the road or got stuck in the snow.
A blizzard warning went into effect in the Eastern Aleutians Thursday afternoon. It was canceled Friday morning.
