Unalaska, AK – An Unalaska man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly selling methamphetamine out of his houseboat in Unalaska's small boat harbor.
Harmon Fisher, 49, had his first pre-indictment hearing in Unalaska's District Court today on six counts of 3rd degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, a Class B felony. He was also served a federal arrest warrant this afternoon.
Public safety officers arrested Fisher after finding methamphetamine and $13,000 cash onboard his houseboat and in his jeep. The arrest was the culmination of an investigation by the Department of Public Safety and the Anchorage office of the Drug Enforcement Administration, stretching back more than a year and a half.
According to court documents, an undercover officer met with Fisher five times over the past two months to purchase thousands of dollars worth of methamphetamine. At one point Fisher allegedly said that he had several other people working for him as well.
DEA officials in Anchorage wouldn't comment on the investigation leading up to the case, and the Public Safety Department wouldn't say which agency the undercover officer was working for. Fisher currently is being held in Unalaska pending transportation to Anchorage, where he will be turned over to federal authorities.
