The race results.
The Super Hero Solstice Run was very successful with 49 total registered participants and 9 tot runners that took part in the tot-run. This boosted our numbers to 58 total participants, compared to 38 registered from last year’s Summer Solstice event. The weather was a bit chilly, but a perfect day to run. We changed the race up and asked those that participated to dress up as their favorite Super Hero. Keils Kitchen won the best costume wearing his Superman footed pajamas. We would like to thank those that took part in our first race this summer and look forward to seeing everyone at the Ballyhoo Run on July 18th.

The Alaska Peace Officers Association (APOA) is a statewide, nonprofit, professional organization with over 1200 members. The association was formed in 1947 to promote training, enhance communication between law enforcement agencies and assist with community oriented events. The APOA Pin shoot is an annual event open to all community members to promote friendly competition, camaraderie and raise funds to assist with community oriented events and needs. The APOA in association with the Aleutian Rod and Gun Club (ARGC) could not have successfully held the event without generous donations from Safeway, Alaska Ship Supply, Key Bank and The Ounalashka Corporation.
