The Principal's Pick for Student of the Week is Cheyanne for the following reasons:
I have enjoyed watching Cheyanne become a leader in our school this year. She has a great attitude, is kind towards everyone, and continually strives to be a role model for younger students. As a teacher's assistant with Mr. Good, she has become a rock star in the 5th grade and has set an example of kindness and hard work for our younger students to model.

Aleutian Arts Council Invites Seattle Teacher & Pianist for Just Desserts Concert

Dancing, Birding, and Women Composers came to Unalaska this past weekend as the Aleutian Arts Council welcomed Laura Dean as their guest performer for their annual Just Desserts classical music concert. Ms. Dean, from the Seattle area has been performing her “Across the Borders” program throughout the United States and Mexico, and the AAC was thrilled to welcome her and her program to the community. Ms. Dean held workshops in the schools during her visit and a dance workshop for the PCR 360/Youth Recreation program as well.

Unalaska Teen Traveling to Quantico

Taylor Holman
The Department of Public Safety congratulates Ms. Taylor Holman, 15 of Unalaska, for being chosen to represent Alaska at the FBI National Academy Associations (NAA) 2015 Youth Leadership Program at Quantico, Virginia. Holman was selected by the Alaska Chapter of the FBI NAA from more than a dozen applying teens from across the state. Holman will learn about ethics, integrity, leadership, emerging law enforcement trends and concerns and get to network with young future leaders from around the world.
