Tapes like this 1980s lip sync contest are beloved parts of the Ch8 archive.
Thanks to everyone who donated during our Save the Channel 8 Archives fundraising campaign! We raised $5,690 through the online giving site Indiegogo. We also received a few donations here in the office, which brought our total up to $6,875. All funds will be used to pay for professional digitization of analog tapes produced by Channel 8 in the 1980s and 90s. We had a great time looking at gems from the Channel 8 archives during the fundraising effort, and we posted a few fun clips on our YouTube site. If you gave and haven't received your premium, they'll be out the door and on their way to you soon. If you intended to give, but didn't get around to it, send us an email! We still have a limited number of water bottles and I Flashed Unalaska t-shirts in stock. Keep an eye out for updates, we will be sharing highlights from the newly digitized content soon.
