Student of the Week for October 27-31, 2014

The High School Department selected Chris Garcia as Student of the Week for the following reasons:

Chris has done incredible work in band this year. He was recently accepted in the Alaska All-State band, which is a huge accomplishment on its own, and even more so considering he is a freshman and is the first percussionist in years to make it from Unalaska. His performance at the fall band concert was impressive to the audience and his fellow musicians and he earned many compliments for it. This is all due to Chris showing focused, hard work every day. Keep up the great work, Chris! - Ms. McNamara, Band Teacher

UCSD Student of the Week: Amelia Napper

Student of the Week for October 20-24, 2014

The Principal's Pick for Student of the Week is Melly Napper for the following reasons:

Always an enthusiastic and fully engaged student, Melly makes a habit-an excellent habit-of connecting the world of academia with what she reads, sees, and hears outside of her classes. Her obvious love of learning will, no doubt, ensure that she makes the most out of every opportunity life throws her way. In addition, Melly is broadening her horizons through active participation in this year’s Tsunami Bowl Club, and is fearlessly taking on a leadership role in that new endeavor, which is most impressive. – Ms. Rudio, English Teacher
