Community was the flavor during this year’s Fall Coffeehouse, a bi-annual event organized by the Aleutian Arts Council. The event featured an immense variety of musical talents from all different sectors of the community including teachers, scientists, and city and state employees.  Along with the great music, the audience enjoyed homemade hors d'oeuvres and coffee.

The Fall Coffeehouse opened with the harmonizing vocals of Stephanie Laut and Annie Ropeik, along with Andrew Miller on guitar.  Husband and wife Andre and Charity Kitsyuk’s melodic tandem followed. Brent Bain played keyboards in a performance of a piece that he wrote, with Kerry McNamara accompanying on bass clarinet. Ethan Nichols dazzled the audience with his dobro and fiddle skills. Local favorite Our Band didn't disappoint:  their set included fun tunes on a variety of musical instruments. And the night ended with Lynda Lybeck Robinson on keyboards and Sharon O’Malley on djembe, which segued into a free-for-all community jamming session that engaged everyone.
