Board Chair Matt Lightner, Darrell Walker and James Gregory

KUCB's successful One Day Radio Pledge Drive was held for 24 hours on  Friday, October 3, with staff and guest DJs rocking the airwaves with their favorite tunes around the clock.  We'd like to thank our Board members and our many volunteers who assisted us in the lead-up to the drive and throughout the event--we could not have done it without  you!  The fundraiser brought in $22,586,  thanks to individuals, families and businesses who pledged their support. We greatly appreciate each and every one of you! Special thanks to the UniSea Hospitality Division for matching UniSea employee pledges, to local Safeway employees who collected donations for us, and to Alaska Airlines for the donation of a round trip ticket as a membership incentive. Thanks, Unalaska, for stepping up and showing your support of community radio—we count on you to keep us on the air and you always come through!

KUCB One Day Pledge Drive

Our ONE DAY RADIO PLEDGE DRIVE hit the airwaves for 24 hours on October 3.  It was a huge success, meeting our goal of $23,000, the second highest grossing radio drive since we launched KUCB FM in 2009!  We had lots of fun as our staff and guest DJs rocked the studio with their favorite tunes all day and our members stopped by to make their pledges and show their support throughout the event.

Denise Alexander-Levendosky

Denise Alexander-Levendosky passed away unexpectedly on October 1. The Michigan native worked as a paraprofessional at Unalaska City School.

Her friend, Jennifer Van Deventer, says Alexander-Levendosky "loved all her kids, past and present."

"She always had a smile, words of wisdom, or a helping hand to offer," Van Deventer says. "She was well-loved by so many and will be truly missed."
