This is the last Student of the Week for the school year. We hope you have enjoyed reading about these outstanding students.
Student of the Week for May 19-23:
The High School Department selected Bryan Earnshaw as Student of the Week for the following reasons:
- Bryan is not only a good student; he is a great person. Last week I was carrying a large, heavy box down the hallway from one end of the school to the other. Bryan stopped me and asked if he could help carry the box. This is not the first time he has offered to help me, and I know he goes out of his way to help others too. He is a role model for kind behavior. Bryan has not been in one of my classes for over a year, but it’s important to recognize honorable behavior as well as academic achievement. Good job Bryan! -Ms. Heard, PE & Health Teacher

May 12-16
The High School Department selected Ace Molina as Student of the Week for the following reasons:
- Ace has worked extremely hard to adjust to a new school. He comes to class prepared, works hard during class, and always cleans up after himself. Ace is kind and respectful to his fellow classmates, the school, and his teachers. Keep it up Ace!-Ms. Goodwin, Art Teacher

On Wednesday, May 14, 2014, the local KeyBank closed in order for the staff to go out into the community and say ‘thank you.’ Every year, KeyBank hosts Neighbors Make A Difference Day and donates the time and talents of their employees to non-profits all over the nation for half a day.
“We’ve helped the public library shelve books, cleaned out the flower beds at the Father Ishmael Gromoff Senior Center, processed and logged artifacts at the Museum of the Aleutians, picked up trash in the bunkers at Fort Schwatka, sponsored a barbecue fundraiser for Camp Qungaayux, and even shepherded 1st graders for their Dockside Discovery field trip,” stated Belinda Sunderland, the manager of KeyBank in Unalaska.
