Brandon Williams, with whom an officer was speaking regarding a fracas in front of a bar, punched a man in the eye when the man approached Williams and the officer. Further investigation indicated that Williams had already struck, or at least attempted to strike, two other people in the moments preceding police intervention. Williams, 37 yoa, was arrested on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.

Caller from Nikolski reported being the victim of a domestic assault. Officers in Unalaska contacted appropriate AST offices to provide assistance for her.

Monday 19 January 2015, 6:35 p.m.
Caller reported some motorists, possibly intoxicated, had driven their vehicle into a ditch on Captain’s Bay Road. Officers responded and found the vehicle completely disabled from what appeared to be a broken axle. The occupants were not impaired but were having a great deal of difficulty walking on the slick, icy surface of the roadway.

Caller reported his parked vehicle was struck but not damaged by a taxi driver who had subsequently driven away. The taxi driver, who returned to the scene, stated she had collected information about the man’s vehicle and had been on her way to the police station. An officer suggested she remain on scene in the future and simply phone police.

Resident asked for increased patrols around her neighborhood, as she has recently noticed increased late-night foot traffic in the area.

A woman reported that a coworker had said unkind things to her, and asked that an officer tell the coworker to stop. An officer contacted the coworker, who apologized for having hurt the woman’s feelings and said he would never, ever talk to her again.

A driver who ran a stop sign struck another vehicle, causing moderate damage but no injuries. The driver received a citation.

A new driver struck a stop sign at the IFHS clinic while attempting to turn in at the facility’s parking lot. Damages were minor and no injuries were reported.

Officer spoke with a landlord about a former tenant, with whom he had only a verbal lease, who had left his rental unit in something other than the agreed-upon condition. An officer advised the landlord that the issues might be better addressed in civil court.

Caller reported a sleeping individual found on a vessel where no person, sleeping or otherwise, was supposed to be. The individual stated he was retrieving his belongings from the vessel. The individual was escorted off the vessel and told not to return.

Caller requested assistance with a drunken individual at his residence who was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave.  Officers contacted the raucous person and told him to leave and not return.

Officers responded to a report of a three car accident. Investigation showed that an individual neglected to defrost his windshield prior to driving and hit 2 parked vehicles causing extensive damage.

Caller reported a large trash burn was perhaps too close to a fuel tank and a residence. A fire officer responded and determined the fire was a safe distance from both structures; the responsible party was also on site with fire extinguishers at the ready.
