Vessel captain requested officer assistance with an intoxicated soon-to-be former employee who was creating a disturbance at the Bobby Storrs boat harbor. Officers ensured that the suspect left the area without incident.

A school-age youth inadvertently activated the SOS button on his cell phone, initiating a 911 call. School officials were able to verify that the youth was not in need of assistance.
Robbery

The wheelchair thief, accompanied by his two erstwhile companions, stole a wallet from a taxi driver’s purse and then refused to pay the fare when the driver demanded that he exit the vehicle and return her wallet. The driver had no interest in pursuing charges and wished only to have the cab fare recovered.

Complaint about several vehicles which had been illegally parked or abandoned on private property. A driver for one of the vehicles was located and advised of the parking restrictions.

Bunkhouse tenants complained that some neighbors had been drinking, screaming and yelling for the last few hours. The responding officer found two vociferous men watching a hotly-contested football game. They were advised to cheer and jeer less loudly.

Officer responded to the location from which a 911 hang-up call had been received, and was advised that the caller was simply having problems with her cell phone.
Traffic Crime

Caller reported a Mazda sedan with illegal blue lights was being driven on Ballyhoo Road. An officer responded to the area but did not locate the suspect vehicle.
Suspicious Person/Activity

A man with a swollen toe told the officer who stopped him as he was trundling along the roadway that he and his erstwhile companions had liberated a wheelchair from the hotel, to more comfortably enable his return to his vessel. The thief, whose license was suspended, was dispossessed of his stolen wheels and made to walk to his boat. The hotel did not care to pursue charges.

A dog, accompanied by a caretaker but not on a leash, jumped on and bit a pedestrian who was walking nearby. The victim received two lacerations and several small punctures on his chest as a result of the attack. Under investigation.

Caller reported that his neighbor needed help removing an unwanted person from her residence. Officers responded and asked the unwanted person why he didn’t leave when he was asked to do so. He replied that he had never been asked to leave, but was more than willing to do so. He left.
Domestic Disturbance

Neighbors reported hearing breaking glass and sounds of an argument from a nearby bunkroom. Officers found that a woman had accidentally broken a window in her room, prompting her boyfriend to yell at her when he returned a few minutes later. There was no indication of any violence or threats thereof.
DUI

Daniel S. Harnden, 50 yoa, was arrested for Driving under the Influence after an officer stopped him because he was driving on the wrong side of the road, in the officer’s lane of travel.
Liquor Law Violation

Officer advised an intoxicated man not to enter or remain on any licensed premises this night.
Assault

Officers responded to a bar regarding a patron who had gone outside and started fighting with people after having been asked to leave. Officers eventually determined that one incoherent and extremely intoxicated man had been fighting with crewmembers who were trying to get him out of the bar and back to his boat. No charges were filed.
