Officer contacted a possibly intoxicated driver and learned that her erratic driving had been caused by her attempts to adjust her rear-view mirror to avoid light reflecting into her eyes.

Complaint about the driver of a four-wheeler regularly traveling at a high rate of speed on Steward Road. An officer contacted the driver, whose license was invalid, and advised him of the laws concerning four-wheeler use on area roadways.

Caller reported three drunks attempting to cross the road, posing potential danger to themselves and others. The man had apparently successfully traversed the roadway by the time officers arrived.

Caller reported two young boys walking down a steep pile of rocks. An officer cautioned the boys about personal safety in such areas.
Theft

When Bernard Bernard, 23 yoa, was booked into the jail on an unrelated theft charge, a stolen ID, credit card and cell phone were found in his possession. Officers determined that the items had been stolen from a woman’s purse and that the purse and its remaining contents had been given to a third party to return to the victim. Bernard was charged with two additional counts of Theft II and one of Theft IV.

Officers conducted a compliance check on a felony probationer, per Kenai Adult Probation. No violations were noted.

A man who had invited several close friends to his apartment for food and drink discovered that two tablet computers went missing at the same time that his friends left his home. The friends, who had been contacted by police for unrelated reasons as they left the area, were quickly identified and both tablet computers recovered. Matagiofa J. Sione, 24 yoa and Bernard Bernard, 23 yoa, were both arrested for Theft III.

Jonathan Nix, 33 yoa, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Assault IV. Nix was contacted while officers were investigating disturbances at various watering holes.

Doorman requested officer assistance with a man who had damaged a pool table, but later advised that the suspect, who had cut the felt on the pool table when he slammed his belt against it, had actually done nothing wrong.

Officers were called regarding a large man who had allegedly pulled a knife on someone. The suspect had fled the bar by the time police arrived, and the few witnesses to the incident were unable or unwilling to identify either the suspect or his alleged victim.

Registered sex offender reported to UDPS that he was returning to his home state of Oregon.

Bar staff reported a highly intoxicated man had just driven away from their bar, and provided a detailed description of both the vehicle and driver. Officers quickly located the driver by following his swerving tire tracks to another bar and contacting him as he stumbled towards the entrance. Shyrey J. Richmond, 25 yoa, was subsequently arrested for Driving under the Influence.

Sean C. Murschel, 30 yoa, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the State of Washington, for Rape of a Child I. Murschel was arrested after officers received information that his vessel had just docked in Unalaska. He was additionally charged as a Fugitive from Justice.
