Resident asked for help contacting a lone hiker whom she had met on the trail much earlier today and who should have returned to town by this time. Officers were able to locate the woman, who had indeed returned from her hike without incident.

Police personnel responding to a Lake Drive home near which a building was burning determined that the blaze had erupted in a fortunately unoccupied wood-fired steam house. Police personnel maintained scene security until the fire was extinguished.

An argument, which erupted between two bunkhouse tenants for unidentified reasons, escalated when one man threw unopened cans of beer at another and then grabbed a knife and threatened to kill the victim if he phoned for help. An intoxicated Luis Gonzalez Isais, 48 yoa, was arrested on one count of Assault III. Isais denied all wrong-doing.

Caller reported a family pickup, on loan to another person, was parked outside her home with the bed completely destroyed. The last identified driver, not the person to whom the truck was on loan, told police the truck was in fine condition when he parked it at 0200 this morning. Under investigation.

Police were dispatched to the South Channel Bridge regarding two wet men who were climbing out of the water. The men, who had apparently previously advised a UDPS employee that they would be jumping from the bridge again this year, had already left the area.

Fire and police officers responded to the quarry above the CEM dock, where creosote logs were being illegally burned. A responsible party was advised to remove and extinguish the creosote logs immediately.
