Apartment-dweller told police she had seen three people walking toward her apartment building, had then heard some scuffling noises and finally saw three people running away. Officers checked the area but did not find anything suspicious or out-of-order.

Officer advised a slightly unbalanced man in front of a bar that he should not drive this night. The man concurred and left the area on foot.

Officer contacted a driver who had been driving in the center of the roadway, and was told that the driver was simply avoiding potholes. The driver, who was not otherwise impaired, was given a warning about this and other violations.

Airline personnel first requested assistance with an inebriate who was passed out in front of the terminal, then reported that a sober friend was making arrangements to get the man home.

Out-of-town wife asked that officers check on her husband, who had allegedly made suicidal comments to her. Officers found the husband in good health and good spirits. He denied having made any such comments and said he would speak to his wife.

Caller reported the driver of a flatbed truck had an unsecured load. An officer found the truck, with only a pallet on the bed, but was unable to locate the driver.

Daughter reported that her elderly father, who suffers from dementia, had gone for a walk but an hour later had yet to return to his new home. The responding officer found that the father had successfully made it home and was not in need of any medical care or other assistance.

Multiple witnesses confirmed that a driver had slammed into a vehicle parked at the Intersea Mall, had left a note on the windshield and had then fled the area. The driver of the suspect vehicle was not identified and could not be reached at the phone number left on the note. Under investigation.

Harbor officer reported that a man who had been previously barred from the CEM Dock had reappeared two days earlier in the shower facilities. An officer contacted the suspect and advised him that he was still not allowed on the premises, and encouraged him to communicate with the Ports Department if his fishing engagements required him to be at this dock.

Caller reported that he believes his phone had been hacked because his caller ID showed only incomplete phone numbers; said that he would phone police if his current houseguest begins using illicit drugs; asked that officers check on an out-of-town neighbor’s home; and expressed disbelief about a recent domestic violence assault. An officer advised the caller to contact the phone carrier regarding the problems with his phone.

Caller reported a bus going around in circles at the landfill. An officer responded to the landfill but alas, found no bus drivers doing donuts there.

Officers suggested to a man who had reported his wallet had been stolen, that he contact his family to see if any of them had seen it. The man was pleasantly surprised and somewhat abashed to learn that his mother had his wallet.

Fire personnel responded to the wreck of the F/V Arctic Hunter, from which black smoke was emanating. Upon arrival they found that a salvage crew had ignited a small fire while cutting open the hull of the vessel. The fire had been extinguished by the time firefighters arrived.
