Liquor Law Violation

The parents of an inebriated and vomit-covered teen asked officers to speak to their daughter about the circumstances surrounding her extreme intoxication. The teen provided considerable information, including the name of the teen that had provided the alcohol. The mother of that teen was unconcerned about the incident. One MIP citation was issued.

A fight amongst four men that began in the airport made its way across the street to the Amaknak Fire Station, where officers attempted to separate the pugnacious, provocative participants. Afitu Faalaulau, was charged with two counts Disorderly Conduct; Jone Taa Taimanu was charged with one count Disorderly Conduct; Ismael Delgado Lopez was charged with two counts Disorderly Conduct.

Officer asked a driver to move his vehicle, which had been parked in such a way as to block a fire hydrant.

Caller reported his cell phone had been stolen, possibly by a man temporarily sharing a room with him. Officers searched the suspect’s person and private belongings but did not locate the phone, and advised the caller to check the rest of the apartment carefully. The phone miraculously reappeared hours later, buried in some sheets in a linen closet.

Driver reported being the victim of another driver who appeared to be playing “chicken” with her. Officers found a vehicle and occupants similar to that described by the caller, but were unable to obtain sufficient evidence to warrant charges.

Business owner reported that a former employee, recently fired due to a habit of drinking and driving of company vehicles, was rather irate about the situation and had made repeated threatening text, phone and personal contacts. The owner asked that the incident be documented in case there was any escalation.

Caller reported several people fishing in an area of the Iliuliuk River that is closed to salmon fishing. The properly licensed suspects explained they were fishing for Dolly Varden.

Officers again contacted a man who was clearly experiencing great psychological distress, and transported him to the clinic to meet with a behavioral health specialist.

Officers contacted a man who repeatedly called 911 but was unable to say exactly why he had done so, and determined he might be experiencing some mental instability. The man was given information regarding locally available assistance and treatment options.

Officers responded to a local hotel regarding a request for assistance with a group of intoxicated hotel patrons. Two men were advised to keep their music turned down so as not to annoy other hotel guests.
