Wife phoned from Anchorage requesting assistance locating her husband, who was extremely intoxicated when last they spoke and who now was neither answering his phone nor reporting for work. An officer made contact with the husband, who was not in need of any further assistance.
Domestic Disturbance

Francis E. Mangrobang, 48 yoa, was arrested on one count of Assault IV-DV following an investigation into a disturbance at Unisea. The victim and several witnesses provided information indicating that an intoxicated Mangrobang had yelled at, shoved, grabbed, and scratched his girlfriend.

Driver reported being nearly rear-ended by another driver near Car Quest. Officers located the suspect driver, who admitted that his view was partially blocked as he backed out of the Car Quest area but denied having been driving recklessly.

Caller reported a vehicle was parked at the end of a roadway with one of its doors open. A few minutes later the driver of the vehicle returned and drove away.

Officers contacted three men suspected of entering a house which is unoccupied and in foreclosure. One of the men, a former resident of the house, said he intended only to remove some garbage that had been left in the entry. The men were advised not to enter the house without express permission from the bank.

A possibly intoxicated driver struck both an immense guard rail and a parked vehicle in the Grand Aleutian parking lot. Officers found the suspect driver drinking in his hotel room; he claimed not to have seen the guard rail and not to remember hitting the parked car. Charges pending.

Caller reported a vagrant appeared to be living on Strawberry Hill. Officers found evidence that someone may have had a camp in the area, but it appeared that said camp was being moved and/or broken down. The vagrant was not located.

A business employee reported being harassed by a man who is not happy about a package having not yet arrived. An officer advised the employee to contact police the next time the man, as yet unidentified, comes into the business.

Officer stopped the driver of a front end loader, loaded with an unsecured forklift and traveling in the middle of the roadway, and issued a citation for failing to obtain an oversize/overweight permit for the move.

Officer observed a tractor-trailer driver take a turn too fast and nearly turn over. The driver admitted to having taken the turn too quickly and was warned about the potential dangers should the trailer have tipped over.
Assault

Officers responded to a report of an alleged assault and found that one man had displayed a vulgar hand gesture to another, and also left his razor trimmings in the bathroom the two men shared. A witness did confirm that the first man had tapped the second on the shoulder. Officers determined that the shoulder tap, stray hairs and middle finger did not rise to the level of a crime.
