Caller reported that the wind was creating an issue with the tents that were used at the Heart of the Aleutian’s festival. The tent stakes had been pulled out and the tents were unsecure. The proper individuals were advised of the problem and secured the tents.

The captain from a fishing vessel requested assistance with a drunk and unruly crewman. The crewman refused to stay in his stateroom and was making a general nuisance of himself. Although he was annoying, he had not as yet violated any criminal statutes. Prior to officer’s arrival, the individual fled the area. Officers were unsuccessful in finding the individual. The Captain advised he would call if he needed further assistance.

Caller requested assistance with a possibly suicidal individual. Officers contacted the individual. Although the individual has been having some rough times, he did not seem suicidal.

Officer contacted an individual who was found living in an abandoned building. The individual stated he had permission to temporarily stay in the building. Pending contact with the building owner.

AST Fairbanks reported that a rape had occurred aboard the cruise ship Crystal Serenity. It was determined that the rape had occurred after the vessel left port and was at sea. AST and the Coast Guard were advised.

Damage - Officers responded to investigate a fender-bender at the ballfield.

Caller wanted the officers to check his company housing for “unauthorized partying.” The officers responded and did not find anyone partying, authorized or otherwise.

Caller reported that a boat had burned. The M/V Rebecca, which was tied up to an old barge at the head of Captain’s Bay, had burned to the waterline. Investigation continues.
