Officers investigated a report of a theft. The officers were able to determine that the supposedly stolen item had been removed by a well-meaning friend of the owner.

Officers assisted in getting a vehicle that was inappropriately parked at a local grocery store moved to a more suitable location.

Officers responded to assist an individual who was reportedly sleeping on the sidewalk. After determining the clearly intoxicated slumberer was able to care for himself, the officers assisted him in finding his way home.

Caller requested a cat trap for several stray kittens at near his residence.

Caller reported seeing an individual walking in a closed area of the Iliuliuk Creek with a bag of salmon. An officer contacted the individual who said he caught the salmon legally in an open area of the creek. He was walking back to his residence via the creek. The bag contained an appropriate number of Pink Salmon all of which appeared to have been legally caught.

Caller reported finding and envelope with two checks inside. An officer was able to locate a responsible party for the checks.

The City’s Roads Chief requested assistance in removing a vehicle that was parked in the way of the Road’s crew. The vehicle’s owner was contacted and the vehicle was removed.

Officers assisted a local business manager in removing an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle’s owner and the business manager were in negotiations concerning the outcome of the vehicle in question.
Drunk Disturbance

Caller reported a fight outside a local drinking establishment. Officers responded to the area but found there was nobody around. Investigation revealed two groups of individuals became involved in a physical altercation that was quickly broken up. All the involved left in different taxis. No injuries are suspected.

Caller requested a welfare check on an individual who had not been heard from in a couple of days. Officers were able to contact the individual and confirm he was not in need of assistance.

Caller reported her ex-boyfriend was caller her and posting inappropriate content on social media. The officer mediated between the two and appeared to alleviate the issues at hand.
Fire Safety

Fire officers responded to a report of a chemical odor coming from an industrial building. The fire officers used their gas monitoring equipment but were unable to locate anything of concern. Over the next couple of days the fire officers returned and took readings without locating any problems.

Caller reported juveniles riding their bikes in the roadway without proper safety equipment. An officer assured that all involved were properly protected.

Caller reported individuals “dipnetting” in the “Church Hole.” Officers responded and found that two German tourists were filming the salmon underwater  using GoPro’s on a pole.
