The Unalaska High School band students have had yet another hugely successful year with Regional Honor Band auditions. The audition requires submitting recordings of at least three challenging excerpts of music that are judged anonymously. The difficult level of the music requires the students to greatly prepare for this outside of class. The results for this year's auditions are an incredible 28 out of 37 students were selected for the honor band, with another 5 selected as alternates. Seven students were selected for first chair in their section. 54% of the Regional Honor Band is made of students from UCSD. Congratulations to all!

UCSD's Science Fair a Great Success

Monday, March 09 2015

The Unalaska City School District's Science Fair was another great success this year. The fair had 82 projects with nearly 150 students participating from 5th to 12th grade. The science fair is a long and grueling process for all involved and the students should be very proud of the work they did. I want to thank everyone that helped during the science fair and a very special thanks to all of our science fair judges. The grand prize winners for high school: Reanna Marquez, Joshua Fernandez, and Kanesia Price with their project "Freezing Point Depression" and for junior high: Sean Conwell, James Vuong, and JR Go with their project "Color Recall", will be traveling to participate in the State Fair.
