Officer received information that a local elder might be the subject of abuse. An officer briefly contacted the alleged victim, who was getting ready to leave town, was in good spirits and agreed to speak to police after returning to Unalaska.

Caller reported nearly being struck by another driver as one was entering and the other exiting a grocery store parking lot. The caller was primarily interested in having an officer issue a warning. An officer contacted the suspect driver, who admitted to having come close to another vehicle, and advised him to drive more carefully.

Lorenso S. Defang, 30 yoa, was also asked to leave the bar and initially did so. He returned for a pizza a few minutes later and was subsequently arrested for Criminal Trespass II.

Zachary P. Wismar, 28 yoa, was arrested for Criminal Trespass II and Resisting Arrest after officers were unable to persuade Wismar that it was in his best interests to simply leave the bar as requested by staff.

A wallet with credit cards and about $100 cash. The wallet and all its contents was later turned in and returned to the owner.

Officer responded to a local hotel regarding a 911 hang-up call that had been received from that location, and learned that the number had been misdialed. There was no indication of any emergency.

Caller reported having seen an unidentified male fire several flares into the air before driving away in an unidentified vehicle. An officer responded to the area but did not locate the unidentified person or vehicle.
Liquor Law Violation

Officer advised a man who had opened a beer outside of and then carried the open bottle into the bar that both drinking in public and taking alcohol into a licensed premise were illegal.

Caller reported his disabled vehicle was at the entrance to Public Works and would be moved in the morning.

A severely intoxicated patient refused treatment at the clinic and departed the area with a catheter still in place. Officers contacted the man walking along the roadway and advised him it would be prudent to remove the catheter. He did.

A woman involved in a minor traffic accident reported to police that the other driver did not have any insurance and might have been impaired. Officers determined that the suspect driver was not impaired, and advised him that he would be charged for failing to carry insurance on his vehicle.
