Fire and police officers responded to help a pet owner whose cat had leapt from an open window to a cliff, where it was stuck. The fire truck ladder scared the cat into running further up the cliff, out of sight. The pet owner was grateful for the assistance and said she would watch for her cat’s return.

Property owner reported a vehicle was parked on his property, without permission. An officer responded to the area and found a vehicle parked on what appeared to be the roadway, outside barricades erected by the property owner. The driver, who said he had never been advised not to park in that area, was not cited. The officer obtained maps, showing property boundaries, in an attempt to resolve the dispute. Under investigation.

Officer issued a trespass advisement, per Ports Department personnel, to a man who had been camping in the women’s restroom at the CEM Harbor. The man left the area with incident.

A taxi driver who had been warned numerous times about failing to display her chauffeur’s license was cited for committing the same infraction again.

Devon C. Davis, 22 yoa, having been advised by an officer when he turned himself in on an outstanding warrant that his license was revoked and he would be arrested if he drove, elected to drive from UDPS after he posted bail. Davis was arrested on one count of Driving while License Suspended/Revoked and one count of Violating Conditions of Release.

Devon C. Davis, 22 yoa, drove to UDPS to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear, original charge Disorderly Conduct.

Business owner reported that a container van, which had previously been secured with a padlock, had been broken into. No suspects were immediately identified. Under investigation.
Harassment

Caller reported being harassed by a former employer who had aggressively approached him and told him he’d never find work in Unalaska again. The former employer denied all of this and said that after a brief conversation with the man he left, as he did not want an escalation of the already strained relations between the two. Both parties were advised not to communicate further with one another.

A driver slid on an icy roadway into the opposing lane of traffic, where he struck head-on an oncoming vehicle with three occupants. Neither high speeds nor drug/alcohol impairment is suspected. All four occupants were treated for injuries, and two were med-evaced for definitive care in Anchorage.
