Injury - Officers responded to a two-car accident on Ballyhoo Road near the North Pacific Fuel offices, where a taxi travelling above the posted speed limit struck a flatbed truck backing into the roadway from a parking lot. The taxi, which spun the truck 90o upon impact, received significant damage and its driver was treated at the clinic for minor injuries. The driver and passenger of the flatbed truck were unharmed. Citations for Limitations on Backing, Basic Speed and Failure to Exercise Due Care to be issued to the drivers.

A woman reported she was yelled at by another woman, who she had allegedly accused of being a gossip, at her place of employment. An officer told the other woman it would be more appropriate for such discussions to take place elsewhere.

Caller reported hearing a cat meow in an apartment whose tenants were not in town. Officers determined that another person was caring for the cat in the owners' absence.

An inebriated man who had been advised by officers 12 minutes earlier not to drive was found doing exactly that. Jesse R. Weekly, 24 yoa, of Unalaska, was arrested for Driving under the Influence.

Taxi driver reported that an unidentified young man had for the third time failed to pay his cab fare. The driver did not wish to pursue charges and simply wanted the young miscreant told that his actions are unappreciated.
