NAWAS issued a Tsunami warning for the coastal areas of British Columbia and Alaska from the North Tip of Vancouver island British Columbia to Cape Decision Alaska/located 85 miles SE of Sitka. The message was "information status only" for coastal areas of Alaska from Cape Decision Alaska to Attu Alaska. No warning is in effect for our area NAWAS message read: There has been a 7.7 magnitude earthquake 390 miles SE of Juneau, Alaska. The earthquake has NOT created a Tsunami Advisory/Warning for the area of Unalaska / Dutch Harbor at this time.

Welfare Check

Out of town parents requested a welfare check on their 21 year old son whom they have not heard from in over two weeks. Officers contacted the son's employer who relayed the information. It was determined the son had lost his cell phone and would make arrangements to purchase another so he could call his parents. Information passed on to the concerned parents.

Investigation determined the suspect had been sleeping in the abandoned cabins on Agnes Beach. The suspect claimed to have obtained permission from the owner. Under investigation.

Clinic staff asked officers to check on a man who had contacted a physician regarding a bad case of hiccups. Officers did so, and learned that the patient's hiccups had magically disappeared after eating a piece of bread as ordered by the doctor.
