The US Army Corps of Engineers is hosting a virtual Public Meeting regarding environmental updates for the Amaknak Formerly Used Defense Site, or FUDS, on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, from 6-8 PM. The meeting, originally scheduled for last Spring, had been postponed due to weather-related issues and COVID-19. The Amaknak FUDS is comprised of various sites on Amaknak and Unalaska Islands, and the purpose of the meeting will be to discuss recently completed remedial activities and the establishment of a Restoration Advisory Board in Unalaska. Community members interested in learning more about the Amaknak FUDS projects or in serving as a volunteer for the Amaknak FUDS Restoration Advisory Board are invited to attend the teleconference call.
