The Canada C3 Expedition, which departed from Toronto on June 1, seeks to celebrate Canada’s 150 years of Confederation, sailing the Northwest Passage through the Arctic, around Alaska, expecting to finish in Victoria by Oct. 28.

The crew is composed of researchers, artists, ambassadors, educators, journalists, youth, historians, community leaders and members of the Indigenous community who will participate in individual legs of the voyage.

The ship features state-of-the-art research equipment, which is being used for a wide variety of marine and polar research projects spearheaded by scientists from across Canada.
