UNALASKA CITY CODE SECTION 4.12.020 (A) states, “No person shall hold the elective office of Mayor or member of the City Council, or be eligible to seek election thereto, unless at the time of his declaration of candidacy, he is a qualified voter of the City who has resided within the City for a period of no less than one year.”

SECTION 4.12.020 (B) states, “No person shall hold any elective office, with the exception of the Mayor and member of the City Council, or be eligible to seek election thereto, unless he is a qualified voter of the City and has been a resident of the City for a period of not less than thirty days preceding election day.”
