TRIAL COURT CELEBRATES LAW DAY WITH OPEN HOUSE.

Members of the public and students are welcome to tour the Courthouse and visit with Court Staff.

This year's Law Day theme is "American Democracy and the Rule of Law: Why Every Vote Matters", and focuses on one of the most important rights a citizen has, which is to vote. This theme was chosen because we are approaching the 50th anniversaries of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

About Law Day: Law Day is an annual event, which was originally conceived in 1957 when American Bar Association President Charles Rhynes envisioned a special national day to mark our commitment to the rule of law. The following year, President Dwight D. Eisenhower established the first Law Day. Law Day was made official in 1961 when Congress issued a joint resolution designating May 1 as the official date for celebrating Law Day.
